Meat Balls

The meat ball is a popular part of the Swedish culinary table. To a Swede the meat ball means so much more than just a bit of food – it´s a nice reminder of childhood and particularly Christmas. When you hear a Swede say “it´s just like mum´s meatballs” it tells of food made with lots of love.

The meat balls are normally a 50/50 mix of port mince and beef mince. They are served with mashed potatoes, brown sauce, lingon berries and pickled gurkins. Meat balls are just one of many meals where lingon berries are served as a accompaniment!
